Innovation reshaping Montenegro
The UK Alumni Association of Montenegro (MAUK) is organising the first-ever Montenegrin Chevening Innovation Forum which will take place on November 15 and 16 2016 in Podgorica, Montenegro. The chief purpose of the Forum is to encourage innovation in Montenegro by making visible the outstanding innovative projects, ideas, and research in different areas and different parts of the world.
The Forum aims at presenting innovative recent projects, ideas and research, which have reshaped other countries of the world in the fields of public policies, science, entrepreneurship, and culture. We want to inspire people of all age and social groups of Montenegrin society to creation and innovation. Additionally, the Forum would influence decision-makers to support and foster creative and innovative ideas and projects.
The Forum is conceived as a two-day event comprising of several thematic stages from which Chevening alumni from Western Europe, Asia, and Latin America will share their innovation stories and inspiration. Innovators from all around the world will present their successes, challenges, and results to a large audience within an interactive public platform. They will hold master classes followed by a Q/A sessions to universit students, young professionals, government officials, and all interested members of the public.
By putting these innovators in the spotlight of the Montenegrin public, we aim both at promoting their achievements and generating a creative impetus which would encourage others to follow suit and decision-makers to support innovation with institutional and financial backing.
As the two-day event is organised under the name and in cooperation with the global Chevening network, representatives of Montenegrin social, cultural, and intellectual life, along with young people and general audience, will have a chance to attend a session dedicated to the Chevening Program with the representative of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Finally, the Forum will be an opportunity for young innovators to get first-hand experiences on idea generation, mobilisation, experimentation, commercialisation, implementation and other stages of successful innovation.
The Montenegro-UK Chevening Inovation Forum 2016 will be organised by the UK Alumni Association of Montenegro (MAUK) with the help of the UK Embassy Podgorica and the Chevening Foundation. MAUK is a non-profit organisation of Montenegrin professionals with UK higher education degrees which runs projects aimed at boosting Montenegro-UK relations and exchange in education, culture, and business.
